Across North America (& a dozen other countries) June has been recognized for many years as the month to celebrate LGBTQ+ including flying the rainbow flag in schools as well as teaching LGBTQ+ beliefs/values.

Meanwhile two weeks ago the London Free Press reported on an apparent 'backlash' from large numbers of Muslims who objected strongly to the gay Pride flag being flown in local elementary schools. (Note: Muslims comprise 10% of the population of our city. Indeed, certain elementary school classes have large numbers of Muslims, sometimes more than 50%.)
The article titled, Big questions, no answers in fallout of mass absences at London schools, raises questions about Islam's view of homosexuality.
I've just finished writing an article grappling with this question and other related issues such as; "How should Christians respond?"
Our concern is that Christians often instinctively avoid this topic as it makes us feel uncomfortable or angry, or perhaps, even afraid of the consequences. How then does Jesus want us to respond, not just for the sake of conscience and integrity? Doesn't he expect us to make the most of the opportunity for sharing the Good News?
