Ek was die week saam met InContext op 'n Zoomkonferensie, met drie sendelinge wat in die moeilike Midde-Ooste werk. Moeilik vanweë die oorlog en vlugtelinge, en gelowiges wat vervolg word, en nou nog die Corona inperkinge daar ook.
Hiermee deel ek net 'n paar uitstaande getuienisse van hulle:
1) Joseph wat na sy bekering deur die M-manne vervolg, gemartel en gedreig word. Hulle vra hom: "What did those Christians gave you that we can't give to you?" Die antwoord: PEACE AND JOY.
2) Die werker in een land vertel: Due to the effect of the lock down they are not allowed to enter the refugee camps and houses. But via Social Media and the more time people have now, increased communication with questions about how to deal with fear and asked for prayer.
3) One story: So many need for food let them receive permission to visit houses, but only 5 minute to deliver food parcels. At one house the 15 year old child said to her mother: "You see Mommy; I told you; After we prayed, Jesus will provide".
4) In Egypt bombs in a church killed a few Christian members; The responds from the family afterwards: "We love and forgive our enemies". In public media it was mentioned as... not normal, but "Crazy".
- Is this easy and normal? No!
- Is this possible? Yes!
5) How to share the Gospel with M's if you are not allowed?
- While driving, two friends picked up two hikers, asked where they are going. OK, we are also going there. Then the two in the front of the car asked and explain to each other about the gospel, the Bible etc. Many times the hikers also want to know more, addresses or phone numbers exchanged and they can be follow up.
- Bargaining at a street shop for a lower price for a certain item. Afterwards pay the seller double. Then they find a much more open heart.
6) A Testimony: A Refugee student saw that Christians handle girls different than M's. He started asking difficult questions to his imam. Soon they arrested and harassed him for becoming a Christian (he was not even a Christian then).
Then he go to a church and asked about the Gospel. Accepted Jesus after that. He left with such a big smile. His mother asked "Why this smile?" Because I met this wonderful new friend. His name? Jesus!
His cousin then want to kill him. He had to run away and hide.
His sister had a dream and came to him asking for help. She accepted Jesus. Also his mother and then his Father who initially want to kill him.
All four of them were baptised together.
7) One Christian lady got ill from the Corona virus. In hospital the doctors and other patients hear about her and asked her for for prayer. God can even have a plan if you get corona!
Lastly: Of What Religion are you?
Are you BORN into it or was it your own CHOICE?
You should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, help us to honor your name. Come and set up your kingdom, so that everyone on earth will obey you as you are obeyed in heaven (Mat 6:9-10, CEV)
